Material Study: Black Locust

Durability

This species is rot-resistant, making it a highly prized material in the building of traditional ships. The end grain of Black Locust is stronger than concrete and known to retain its natural structure for at least 50 years.

Permeable

In the garden, joints between the Wood Pavers form a permeable surface, allowing rainwater to pass through and replenish the soil beneath. This improves soil and garden health by allowing water and oxygen to flow underground and reach plant roots.

Textural
